I love Greek Mythology. The interesting relationship between gods and humans play on the concept of transience and immortality. Zeus was married to Hera, his third immortal wife, but despite being married, Zeus would have many relationships with mortals and immortals, bringing forth a plethora of offspring. One such relationship was that of Zeus and Leda, the queen of Sparts in greek mythology, a relationship that also produced children for the supreme god.
Artists loved the topic because of the drama and the romance involved. I love the fluidity and the expression of ecstasy needed to do it. For me water color is my favorite medium and I joyfully let go of my old structured approach to art.
