A dreamlike scene features Prince Charming eloping on his magic horse with his beloved against the dark forces of evil in white, with muted colors and flowing mantle and her hair. The background hints at an imaginative cityscape under a large blue orb. influenced by Edmond Du Lac, Chagal and all the filmmakers of magic realism, this piece is a reflection of my state of mind back in 1973.
Elhamy is an Egyptian artist and teacher with 45 years of professional experience. He works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, graphic and interior design, and wooden toys. He is the owner of Graffiti Artistoys, a graphic arts studio located in Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. He also owns a workshop for the production of educational toys and materials, and is co-owner of Box of Wonders (Sandouq el Agab), a shop selling folk-inspired wooden toys and automata in Fustat, Cairo. Elhamy recently moved to Los Angeles, California, to be near his children (and adorable grandchild) and looks forward to exploring new opportunities.
