The Sultan Al-Ghuri Complex includes a Khanqah; a mausoleum; a sabil; a mosque, and a madrasa. The mosque and madrasa are located on one side of the road which the complex straddles, while the khanqah, sabil, and mausoleum are located on the other side of the road. The main Qasaba (road) of Islamic Cairo has a big number of buildings from different dynasties. Al ghuriyya was and still is a thriving market with a delightful mishmash of old and new commercial and social activities
Elhamy is an Egyptian artist and teacher with 45 years of professional experience. He works in a variety of media, including painting, drawing, graphic and interior design, and wooden toys. He is the owner of Graffiti Artistoys, a graphic arts studio located in Maadi, Cairo, Egypt. He also owns a workshop for the production of educational toys and materials, and is co-owner of Box of Wonders (Sandouq el Agab), a shop selling folk-inspired wooden toys and automata in Fustat, Cairo. Elhamy recently moved to Los Angeles, California, to be near his children (and adorable grandchild) and looks forward to exploring new opportunities.
